Stents are categorized as cardiac (bare metal and drug eluting) and non-cardiac (peripheral). Bare metal cardiac stents are branded as Movystar (CE 0481) which are made up of biocompatible SS 316 LVM), Flexistar* (made up of cobalt chromium). Vascustar* is also made up of cobalt chromium but its a peripheral stent. Drug-eluting cardiac stents are named as Movytax* (coated with paclitaxel) and Easyrap* ( coated with Rapamycin). All ( excluding peripheral) stents are available in size of 2.5-4 mm diameter & 7-38mm length. *CE Pending

Movystar is having STAR shape design. Its unique star segments are for better radial force. Safe and accurate delivery along with high longitudinal flexibility, low crimoing profile and good trackability are its advantages. The design trials have been published in SOLACI 2000. Easyflex is one of the most flexible comfortable stent design due to patented double link technology. It is intended for tortuous vessels. It is having 3D flexible elements. Twinflex design is somewhat in-between Movystar and Easyflex. Movystar is platform for DLC & Paclitaxel Eluting Movytax stent. DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) is inert, permanent, Crack proof and homogeneous coating assures its biocompatibility for lifetime. The inert DLC surface is anti-inflammatory and non-thrombogenic. It permits natural healing of the vessel wall and re-endothelialisation. This one is a novelty amongst the contemporary products. Easyflex serves as platform for DLC and Rapidolimus ( analogue to Rapamycin embedded in resorbable polymer) eluting Easyrap stent. For both DES (Movytax & Easyrap) 100% release of drug is due to biodegradable matrix of the polymer. Coating is by clinically proven bio-steel coating technology giving highest mechanical stability of the coating. It maintains integrity during stent implantation and expansion. It effectively prevents neointimal hyperplasia during the release time. drug is 1 mg/mm2 (coating thickness 0.0007”) with slow release kinetics of 10-28 days.
